庥豆app下载 is celebrating an exceptional set of GCSE results this summer and could not be prouder of the achievements of its students.

In English and Maths, 61% of students achieved at least a grade 5 (a strong pass) in both subjects, and 80% achieved at least a grade 4, a testament to the hard work of students and staff alike.

38% of all grades awarded were grade 7 or higher, demonstrating outstanding academic performance across a broad range of subjects.

The average grade across all subjects was 5.7 with 10 students achieving straight 8s and 9s, the equivalent of straight A*s under the previous grading system.

庥豆app下载鈥檚 Year 9 students, who sat their GCSEs in French or Spanish, also continued to shine.

18% of all grades awarded were the top grade of a 9, while 70% of students achieved a grade 5 or higher, and 81% achieved at least a grade 4.

These results significantly exceed national averages, reaffirming the school鈥檚 stance on being Unashamedly Academic and Unapologetically Aspirational.

Katie Houghton, Head of School, said:
鈥淭hese results are an absolute credit to our students and staff. Our Year 11s have been on such a journey with us and their collective, and individual, results tell so many stories of perseverance and courage. I am so proud of them and am also thrilled that so many will be continuing their education with us in our Sixth Form.鈥

Didsbury Sixth Form is celebrating a landmark achievement as its very first cohort of students received their A Level results this summer.

An impressive 100% of students passed their A Levels, marking a hugely successful debut year for the Sixth Form. A third of all grades were A or A*, with 93% of students achieving high grades (A*-B). In total, almost two-thirds of all grades awarded were A*-B, and the average grade across all entries was a B.

These results are a testament to the hard work, perseverance and aspiration of the students, as well as the dedication of the teaching and support staff who have guided them throughout their Sixth Form journey.

Katie Houghton, Head of School, passed on her congratulations to the students and remarked:

鈥淎 Levels are such a crucial stepping stone to access the future of choice; seeing our students achieve such outstanding results and go on to such aspirational destinations makes me immensely proud of them and our staff.鈥

Student success has seen confirmed places to study subjects such as Medicine, Computer Science, Engineering, Psychology, History and Spanish.

Students are going on to top universities like St Andrews, York, Newcastle, Manchester, Lancaster and Nottingham to name just a few.

庥豆app下载 celebrates first set of GCSE results /didsbury-high-school-celebrates-first-set-of-gcse-results/ Thu, 22 Aug 2024 12:57:30 +0000 /?p=11989

庥豆app下载 received their first set of GCSE results this summer and could not be prouder of the students鈥 achievements. 60% of students achieved at least a grade 5 (strong pass) in both English and Maths where, for comparison, the 2023 national average was 45%.

On top of this, nearly 40% of the school鈥檚 grades were grade 7 or higher. This is particularly impressive considering the range of academically rich subjects that the students were entered for with almost 90% of students being entered for the English Baccalaureate.

庥豆app下载鈥檚 Year 9 GCSE language results were once again, phenomenal. Over 75% of the grades were at least a 5 (strong pass) and almost 50% were grade 7 or above. For comparison, 55% of students who have chosen to study a language at GCSE nationally achieve at least a 5. The school鈥檚 language GCSE results continue to impress and exceed national averages.

Katie Houghton, Head of School, commended students and staff by saying:

鈥淭hese results are a testament to the hard work that our students and staff have dedicated over the last five years. The overwhelming support from our parents and carer community has been fundamental to this success. Best of luck to our Year 11 leavers in their future endeavours and we look forward to welcoming many of you back into the Sixth Form in September.鈥

David Woolley, Executive Head of School, added:

We knew that our students would make us proud with what they would achieve from the moment they started with us. This was true during our first Ofsted inspection in January where they were part of the team that secured Outstanding judgements in all areas. However, these results are the real testament to all the hard work and dedication our Year 11s have put into their studies. We couldn’t be prouder!鈥.
